Dr Bishnu Sharma Nepal, originally from Syangja, Nepal, is a hydropower engineer with a PhD from Durham University (UK), a master’s from Norway, and a bachelor’s from Pulchowk Campus, Nepal. Widely recognised as an industry expert, he has contributed to major projects such as Khimti, Melamchi, Kaligandaki A, Kabeli A, and the Sunsari Morang River Diversion in Nepal, as well as serving as a hydropower expert on international projects in over 15 countries. Dr Sharma is currently with Mott MacDonald UK, a globally renowned consulting company. He has worked extensively in both Nepal and the UK and is socially active, particularly in the fields of hydropower and Nepal’s development. He is currently serving as an advisor to the DNC Executive Committee (2025–2027).
